The Crozet teen took the stage for her first audition with American Idol, which aired on Sunday, March 6.

All three judges stood once she was done playing.

“What are the names of your fans?” Perry asked.

“I don’t have any,” Anderson, 17, responded.

“I’m a Keny,” Perry screamed.

Judge Lionel Richie said American Idol is looking for the next thing in the music industry — and Anderson was it.

“You have graced us, because your voice, your look, your sound … if that’s 17-years-old, then you’ve answered our prayers,” he said.

Judge Luke Bryan said she was a five star recruit. He described a new ticket system for this season called the Platinum Ticket, which allows the contestants to get to one of the rounds in Hollywood Week.

“My head is spinning,” Bryan said. “I truly believe your musical journey for the rest of your life just started right here, right now.

“I’m feeling very threatened,” Perry joked. “I don’t know how you haven’t been recruited. You check every box. Get ready to become your own hero.”
